PIP - Point in percentage. PIPS is the unit of measurement to express the change in value between two currencies.

Example if EUR/USD moves from 1.1300 to 1.1301 price has moved 1 pip as the value has increased by 1.

A PIP is usually to the 4th decimal place with the exception of YEN (JPY) currency pairs where we will find the PIP to the 2nd decimal place. The unit we find after the PIP is called a PIPETTE : 10 PIPETTES = 1 PIP.

We disregard the PIPETTE as the value is so small.
